The Broadwater Inn & Cottages is a historic coastal cottage resort overlooking Baddeck Bay (Bras d`or Lake). Broadwater Inn and Cottages has mixed the quaintness of a historic property with modern log cottages and traditional built bungalows. Located in a quiet setting 2km. along the bay on the outskirts of the popular tourist destination of Baddeck. The Broadwater allows one to have the best of both worlds, a cozy coastal location yet just a minute to the amenities of the village. The cottages are designed for, romantic couples getaways , small families with multi bedroom suites and family or corporate retreats using whole property or chalet configurations. Free WiFi and SAT TV allow one to stay informed despite being in a location that seems so far away from it all ,if not in another time. The B&B option of rooms located in the Inn offer flexibility for cottage guest to have their own guest visit, yet stay in the Inn. The ocean side walk to the village is one of the most popular local pedestrian ways as walkers ,joggers and cyclists wind their way to and from the village. A Scottish homestead overflowing with history this property was the home of Alexander Graham Bell`s assistant and companion A McCurdy . Home of Bell`s partner and famous explorer George Kennan and formally deeded to the steamship magnate Samuel Cunard. The Broadwater Inn & Cottages offers eight self-contained cottage/suites and five B&B rooms contained in private settings over the course of twelve natural acres of water views and rustic retreat. Cape Breton gardens , eagles and music fill the senses of smell,vision and sound at Broadwater.

Broadwater Inn & Cottages is located on Baddeck Bay (Bras d`or Lake) offers ocean views ,*water access at one portion of the property at BayCroft cottage. A sandy beach is 2 km away on Kidston Island ,Ingonish beach 58 miles , Margaree Beach 52 miles. We would recommend visiting these out lying beaches during a tour of the Cabot Trail. We are in the middle of the Cabot Trail ,"the beginning and the end of the cabot Trail" actually one of the past owners of our property incorporated the name the Cabot Trail as the Municipal Clerk of Victoria County . So we are close. We are right in the middle of Cape Breton Island too so everything worth doing or seeing is within a minute to a day trip from our location. We are Cape Bretoners ,we know the lay of the land here so advise is concise. Tons of culture with the Gaelic College just down the road, music, lobster boils and dinners minutes away. Sea Kayak ,whale watching and hiking arranged.
