Located in a quiet garden overlooking Shelburne’s beautiful harbour, Rose Gate Cottage is an ideal location from which to explore Shelburne and Nova Scotia’s South Shore. From the garden there is a clear view up the harbour to the Sandy Point Lighthouse and across to Islands Provincial Park: a protected park that is well treed and a favourite walking spot.

Shelburne Harbour is perhaps the most picturesque harbour in all of Nova Scotia. Over 16 km long, this large natural deep-water harbour is undeveloped and unspoiled by industry or shipping. The harbour supports a few small fishing villages, the town of Shelburne, some lobster fishing wharfs, a yacht club and a number of beautiful beaches.

This welcoming cottage has a sun room that spans the width of the house and overlooks the harbour. There are two bedrooms; the master has a queen size bed and the guest room has a single bed. There is a three piece bathroom and an eat-in kitchen with an under counter fridge, microwave, toaster oven, coffee maker, kettle and hot plate.

Warm shades of creams and yellows combined with an eclectic décor of antiques, handmade quilts and other interesting pieces give this cottage a cheerful disposition. So park the car, relax in the garden, watch the sail boats race by and take the time to explore the historic nautical town of Shelburne.

Additional Rate Information

To secure your vacation rental, a deposit of $500.00 CDN per week and the damage deposit waiver are due upon booking. Your booking is not confirmed until this deposit has been received. The balance of the rental fee is due 90 days prior to your arrival. Payment can be made either by Email Transfer, Visa, MasterCard or personal cheque in Canadian Dollars.

Cancellation Policy

Should you need to cancel your Nova Scotia vacation rental reservation; your cancellation notice must be made in writing - either by fax, email or mail.
For cancellations received before 90 days prior to occupancy and after a deposit has been made, $250 shall be forfeited from the $500 Reservation Deposit.
For cancellations received between 60 and 90 days prior to your arrival date, 50% of the total rental fee is forfeited.
For cancellations received between 30 and 60 days prior to your arrival date, 75% of the total rental fee is forfeited.
For cancellations received less than 30 days prior to the arrival date, 100% of the total rental fee is forfeited.
