Property Description

Our beautiful five bedroom, four bathroom cottage is available for rent all year. The cottage comfortably sleeps 12 and is perfect for families or sharing with friends. Our large wrap around deck has no banister so you can enjoy lake views from anywhere inside or outside the cottage.

The main living space is open plan with a quirky decor. Air conditioning is available for those hot evenings and the cottage is fully winterised so it's warm even on those chilly winter, spring or fall evenings.

The cottage has two separate living rooms each with its own wood burning, fan-assisted fireplace. There is plenty of comfortable seating, dozens of DVDs for the whole family and many board games. And if you fancy a good workout flinging yourself around, we also have a Nintendo Wii with games and accessories available for rent.

The grand well-equipped kitchen faces the lake making cooking for family and friends both sociable and pleasurable. The kitchen also doubles as a sunroom with an antique four-person oak table that extends to seat eight.

The dining room offers a stunning hand-made cedar harvest table with seating for 10-12 and sliding doors leading to the great wrap around deck and views of the lake. If Al Fresco dining is more your style, there is a gas barbecue, large table and seating on the deck.

Trenanthia cottage is a premier destination to enjoy all four Muskoka seasons.

Looking for something new and interesting ways to enjoy the beautiful Muskoka winter? Why not try ice fishing? Trenanthia Cottage is on Sparrow Lake which is an excellent fishing lake! Fancy catching a 6 pound Bass, Pickeral or Walleye? How about a 14 pound Northern Pike? Ever wrestled a 5 foot long Muskie? These are some of the great specimens of Sparrow Lake!

And Trenanthia cottage is the perfect snowmobiling location. The cottage is on Sparrow Lake which is home to one of the area's many OFSC snowmobiling trails ... you can connect anywhere in Muskoka!

Warm weather activities include: Hiking trails, swimming, kayaking, visit some wildlife nearby to mention but a few.

Cold Weather activities include: Snowshoeing, Cross country skiing, ice fishing, snowmobiling, ice skating and snow tubing nearby.

Plenty of help with daily chores: large dishwasher, washing machine, dryer, fully equipped kitchen, and mud room with direct access to the outdoors door to keep the mess of outdoor fun contained!

The lakeside cottage is surrounded by forest making it a private, peaceful nature-lovers paradise.The large wrap around deck offers uninterrupted views of the lake and hosts the built-in hot tub open ALL year round where you can soak up the wonderful vistas as the seasons change. The cottage is fully winterised and ready for fun any of the four seasons; winter fun includes ice fishing, ice hockey on the inlet, snowmobiling (local rentals available), cross country skiing, and snowshoeing; Fall arrives in amazing technicolour as the forest surrounding forest and forests across the lake turn all shades of red and gold.

Our great Outdoor Hot Tub is built in to the deck and is available ALL year round, where you can soak and take in the lake views in all seasons.

The huge wrap around deck has no banister to obscure lake side views and has plenty of space for hanging out and outdoor dining with a large glass table and plenty of seating. There is a large hooded gas barbecue for those al fresco cooking and dining evenings. Steps lead down from the
deck to the generous beach for volleyball and sandy fun. Share marshmallows around the outdoor fire pit while the sun sets.

One side of the lot opens onto forest, attracting a range of nature's best offerings including
deer, loons, beavers, grey herons, and Canada geese to name a few.

Rental includes a canoe, a paddle-boat, 2 row-boats, volleyball, badminton, horseshoes and more.
Great fishing in Sparrow Lake off the dock or in the inlet. (Our inlet is very popular for winter ice-fishing!) Paddling from beach and some swimming from dock.
Dock space for motor boats and local public launch. Nearby crown land available for further fishing and swimming.

In winter, the cottage is an ideal location for winter ice-skating, hockey playing, snowmobiling and
ice-fishing.

Additional Bedroom Information

Upstairs: Stunning main bedroom with king-size bed and walk-out deck: located on the second floor, this bedroom overlooks the lake, has an ensuite three piece bathroom, and a sitting area with skylight.

Bright room for singles or couple: also on the second floor, this room is laid out for the convenience of dividing the two twin beds (for individuals) or pushing the beds together to create a double (for a couple). There are also some nice, thick curtains in this room to block out the light, if you so desire.

Cathedral ceilings in twin room: the third and final bedroom on the second floor has a lovely wooden panelled cathedral ceiling and two sets of adult and child friendly bunk beds.

Downstairs: Twin bedroom can be separated from the rest of the cottage for quiet time:

Bright double bedroom: Both this bedroom and the downstairs twin bedroom have a hallway door that allows them to be virtually separated from the rest of the cottage.

Other rates are standard rates and exclude Special Holidays and long weekends. Weekend rentals are from Friday to Sunday. Weekly rentals are Saturday to Saturday in the summer (we do not rent weekends in the summer) and generally Friday to Friday in the other seasons. We're happy to discuss your needs though.
