Lumina Family Resort has been providing wonderful Muskoka vacations since 1921. Join us for our 90th season! Owned and operated by the Hungerford family for 4 generations. The largest cottage resort on Lake of Bays with over a mile of beautiful shoreline and 350 feet of safe sandy beach. Lumina is kid-friendly and caters to all ages with a dynamic choice of activities.

Our traditional, child friendly family vacations include full maid service, chef-prepared meals and a fully supervised children's program. Families return year after year to enjoy the beautiful waterfront, the outstanding food, great companionship and the friendly, relaxed atmosphere. Kid's Program

Lumina has a long-standing tradition of providing a totally relaxing holiday for the whole family, and we know if the kids are happy we are half way there.

OUR CHILDREN'S PROGRAM (Petticoat Junction) is included as part of your stay at Lumina Resort for no extra cost.

Our fully supervised children's program is run twice daily: 10 - 12 am and 2 - 4 pm. Supervision is also provided on Saturday evening during our manager's party and during the Sunday evening meal. Throughout the week some evening activities are planned.

Sitters for the evenings can be arranged through the office, at a reasonable rate, with notice and subject to availability.

Sunday night is the Teddy Bear Picnic so parents can have a quiet dinner alone.

The program is for children ages 3 - 10. It involves detailed arts and crafts, nature hikes, organized sports, sing songs and field days.

Pre Teen Program
A different sports tournament is offered daily which pre-teens can be involved in. The evening social program is usually a family event. There is an arcade room, ping pong, basketball, water and sand volleyball. Waterskiing, wakeboarding and tubing is offered daily with a sign up at an additional charge.

Individual Cottage Description

COTTAGES & LODGE
36 chalet cottages, and main lodge all nestled in and around the trees and manicured lawns of our 240 acre estate on Lake of Bays.

Our cottages and chalets have one to four bedrooms. Most have balconies, fireplaces, privacy, beautiful views of the Lake of Bays with a very woodsy yet open feeling. There are also rooms in our main lodge for those who want to be closer to everything.

In our main lodge we have many areas for your different needs:

Knotty Pine Room for ping pong, kid’s games, toy room for the little ones and arcade room for teens
Lake of Bays Club Bar for evening entertainment and darts
The Wicker Room for big screen T.V., having your morning coffee and reading the paper
The Gallery with our historic picture wall
The Living Room to sit by the stone fireplace and relax or play cards
The Patio for lunch overlooking fabulous Lake of Bays

Main Lodge Rooms
All rooms have a double and a single bed with four piece bathrooms. Lakeview rooms have no balcony. Balcony rooms have a forest or pool view.

Cottages Perfect for Couples or Small Family
These cottages have either a bedroom with a Queen and a livingroom or a Queen bed in the livingroom and a bedroom with two singles and four piece bath. All have fridges and decks. Some with fireplaces. (rates) Family Cottages
These cottages have two to three bedrooms with a living room. They have four piece bath, fridges and decks. All have a Queen bed and various other sizes. Some with fireplaces.

Large Homey Cottages
These cottages have four to five bedrooms, all with stone fireplaces and four piece bath. Three of which have full kitchens. All have Queen beds plus doubles and singles.

Additional Rate Information

Weekly Rate is Per Adult (including two meals daily) based on number of adults in the accommodation. Please make reservations by phone. For more information on rates please give us a call - we would love to talk to you!

Cottages available from singles to 7 people

$300.00 single supplement will be charged for one adult with children in cottage accommodation.

CHILDREN'S RATES
Under Three Years - NO CHARGE
ages 3-4 - $235 / wk.
ages 5-8 - $350 / wk.
ages 9-12 - $400 / wk.
ages 13-15 - $495 / wk.

Rates are subject to 13% H.S.T., plus 6% Service Charge. The Service Charge covers all staff gratuities except your Server and your Housekeeper who you tip yourself.

House Rules

Accounts may be paid with VISA, Mastercard, personal cheque, cash or traveller's cheque. Rates subject to change.

$300.00 Deposit is Required, on all reservations, refundable (less $50.00 for accounting) if cancellation is made in writing two weeks prior to arrival. Deposit will be accredited to accounts on confirmed departure dates. Under 14 days, no refund on deposit. Guests who depart prior to their confirmed departure date will forfeit their deposit. We reserve the right to accept or reject any application, or to terminate any reservation at any time.
