We offer our guests friendly, courteous service and clean, comfortable and affordable accommodations that are modern, yet still maintain a rustic feel.

Our rental boats are strong and extremely fishable, but best of all, they are up to date.
We are located in a peaceful and natural setting, amid towering pines, situated on a peninsula overlooking the South River, which empties into the famous Lake Nipissing, a short distance downstream.

Who can think of Lake Nipissing without thinking of fishing? The lake is prized for its catches of walleye, monster pike, giant musky, scrappy bass and many other sought after species. The fishing opportunities are indeed limitless here with seemingly endless water to explore. We're not just about fishing, peruse some of the other activities that we have to offer - there's something for everyone!

Fishing

Lake Nipissing is a bonofide fish-producing factory. Where else can you consistently catch trophy size walleye, muskie, northern pike, large and smallmouth bass and panfish - all within a short boat ride to the welcoming sight of the dock? Our own river is a major spawning ground for most species, so you can be certain that finding fish to tangle with will never be a problem.

Come and try the sheltered bays of Lake Nipissing, including Fish Bay, Hunter's Bay and Gull Islands, all found less than thirty minutes by boat from your front door. If the big lake gets overly rough, rest assured that the miles of shoreline found in the South River will offer you excellent fishing opportunities, as well as calm and restful waterways.

Included with your boat rental, We also offer the unique opportunity to fish any of the many lakes in the surrounding area. Lakes such as Nosbonsing, Restoule, Commanda and Stormy (to name a few) are all within twenty minutes of the resort. There are also numerous smaller bodies of water located off the beaten path, accessible with a short walk or by ATV, which afford some truly great fishing. On site guiding is available at very reasonable rates.

Although Nipissing hosts a great chance at a trophy, it's the average size catches that tell the true tale of a productive fishery. Our guests wrestle with walleye in the one to two-pound range regularly, smallmouth between one and three-pounds and northern pike averaging over five-pounds - with many going greater than twelve-pounds the last few years. For those in search of jumbo perch, Nipissing can produce some of the finest catches found throughout the area.

Stop at one of the many islands and take part in a 'north-country' shore lunch - the flavours will positively melt in your mouth.

Waterfront Description & Nearby Activities

Swimming - Come and take a dip in our large in-ground heated pool, or
discover one of the beautiful beaches that lie close at hand.

Cycling - Take a slow leisurely ride and explore the region by road or challenge
yourself on one of the many bush trails that the area has to offer. We have a
number of bicycles available for loan if you are unable to bring your own.

Canoeing - Take a relaxing paddle on the calm waters of the South River and
take in the natural beauty that abounds. Our canoes, paddleboats and kayaks are available for use at no charge.

Golfing - There are a number of great golf courses (Osprey Links or Clear Springs) near the resort and we are more than happy to arrange a tee time for your fun day in the sun.

Hiking -Is an easy, low cost way to discover the great outdoors.

Horseback Riding - Trail rides are offered by Stoneoaks Riding Stables just a short distance away. Let us make the arrangements for you.

Take a cruise - Chief Commanda cruise
Skiing - Hit the slopes in winter for skiing, tubing, snow boarding at nearby Laurentian Ski Hill.

Shopping - visit one of North Bay's shopping malls.

Individual Cottage Description

Comfort and convenience are what makes for a pleasant stay at a resort, and when designing our cottages, we certainly kept this in mind. Our eight cottages offer a semi-private atmosphere, sheltered from the prevailing winds and all offering a view of the river. Take your pick of a two or three bedroom, with enough space in the largest cottage to accommodate upwards of 8 people comfortably. Our cottages are wheelchair accessible. We pride ourselves on attention to detail, because for one week of the year, this will become your home away from home.

Everything and the Kitchen Sink…

Our modern cottages offer full conveniences to our guests, including such things as 3 or 4 piece bathrooms, a full kitchen stocked with dishes, pots, pans and cutlery, new appliances, as well as a toaster and coffee maker. We provide all pillows and linens but our guests must supply their own towels.

Preparing meals has never been easier, especially when a private deck, propane BBQ and patio set is provided for each of the eight cottages. Although our lodge is strictly housekeeping there is plenty of opportunity for everyone to mingle and get acquainted with the other guests around a campfire, the pool, the recreation hall or any of the other common areas.
