About Us

Ed & Mary Chmiel are the owners of the Severnfalls Cottages and the Riverhouse Restaurant located in Severnfalls about 1.5 hours from Toronto. Our water front property is spread over 3 acres of land situated right on the Trent Severn Waterway. The river is a great place to relax fish and swim right off our private dock. From all 4 of our cottages you have a spectacular view of the river. Waterfront Description & Nearby Activities

We are situated half way between the Big Chute Marine Railway Lock # 44 and Swift Rapids Lock # 43. We are just off Upper Big Chute road and 20klm from Coldwater where you will find some interesting shops and the Bon Air golf course. Our property can sleep 38 so it’s perfect if you’re planning a large group event, family reunion or golf tournament. Our cottages are very comfortably furnished with well equipped kitchens. Upon your arrival each cottage is clean and tidy with blankets and pillows provided. Bed lines and towels can be supplied for a fee. Barbeques are supplied on each deck. Our guests can enjoy relaxing and having fun with our 2 paddleboats, 2 kayaks, and canoe. Life jackets are provided. We have fire pits situated at each cottage. There is a small sandy beach area and a large sand box for the kids.
Just minutes from the cottages are a general store, LCBO, beer store, propane and ice cream parlour. A nearby Marina allows for easy access for launching your boat and tie up to one of our cottage docks. There are 2 parking spots and one boat slip included with each cottage. Enjoy our nearby fully licensed restaurant with an outdoor patio for those days you just don’t feel like cooking. There is a local chapel within walking distance.

Additional Rate Information

Dogs are allowed at our discretion only. A damage deposit is required for all dogs and is 100% refundable if there is no damage to the premises. Dog owners are responsible to keep dogs on a leash at all times and pick up after them at all times.

Rentals are minimum one week during July & August and they Start/End Fridays (3:00pm/11:00am)
