Excellent Location
Quiet, private, relaxing location. Close to Bras d'Or Lake, the Village of Baddeck, and grocery store. Nicely furnished with well-equipped kitchen and laundry facilities. Interior was very clean and neat.
We enjoyed visiting the Cabot Trail, Fortress of Louisbourg, Gaelic College, the Bell Museum, Highland Village Museum, the Glenora Distillery, hiking in the Cape Bretton Highlands National Park, and attended a Ceilidh in the village of Baddeck. A sunset at Mabou Beach is not to be missed!

Charming
Nicely furnished, tastefully decorated, comfortable amenities, peaceful setting, ideally situated. This quiet and lovely property incorporates all that is the essence of Cape Breton. There is nothing more to ask for in a "home away from home".
In addition, the owners were professional and personable to work with making the transaction a very pleasant experience.
Highly highly recommend this property to those looking for a real taste of Cape Breton.

Great Stay For 2 Families
We loved this cottage. We had a large group visiting family members on different parts of Cape Breton. This was a perfect central location for our travels.
There was ample space for three adults and four kids. The house was clean and well-stocked. Felt like we were staying with family.
We did have small kids (twins 18months, plus a 3yr old and a 7yr old) so we had to hide a few valuables during our stay. If the kids were a bit older we would not have worried.
Private beach was wonderful for the kids. Very short drive to the town. Lots of bugs but the owners graciously made sure enough spray was available.
Owners were very nice and promptly dealt with our questions. Nice guide in the house to local attractions and restaurants.

Excellent Stay
We decided to vacation in Nova Scotia this October - Cape Breton Island, specifically.
Three couples, (I should mention that 3 of the 6 of us are originally from Edinburgh, Scotland) and we wanted to see aNew Scotlanda firsthand. And the timing of our stay with the Celtic Colours Festival couldn't have been planned any better.
We chose Baddeck because of its central location and by chance found the Green Gables rental property and could not have been happier with our decision. From start to finish, the owner and the local property management person could not have been more accommodating. The house was exactly as stated (and portrayed in the photos). It was quaint, yet well equipped, clean and well maintained. And, while in a very pleasant quiet country setting, the house was only a few minutes to town or to a major roadway.
We would recommend, if you visit, to stay in centrally located Baddeck . And we would highly recommend the Green Gables property. The Cabot Trail is a must see (just like the Highlands of Scotland); the Alexander Graham Bell museum (he was Scottish, too); lunch or dinner at The Red Shoe Pub in Mabou; or lunch at The Chowder House on the Cabot Trail in Neilas Harbor. The Gaelic College in St Annas is worth a visit as is the Glenora Distillery in Glenville, just to mention a few.
From the morning coffee on the front porch to the crackle of the logs in the fireplace after a day of sightseeing, our first trip to Cape Breton will be one that weall remember and cherish, always.
Weare already planning next yearas visit.
