Sand Beach Lodge is an American Plan Lodge located on the beautiful and historic French River in Northern Ontario. Just over a 3 hour drive north of Toronto, the resort is set amongst 13 acres of high pine trees and offers a quiet and relaxing experience. Our guests are treated to luxury cuisine every night with a 4-course meal whilst enjoying the stunning views looking over the river, as well as having breakfast and boxed lunch provided.

For the angler the river boasts muskie, walleye, northern pike and bass. The river winds its way from Lake Nippissing to Georgian Bay and you can easily find a quiet spot to anchor and catch the ‘big one’. All-inclusive fishing packages are available or alternatively rent a boat from our modern fleet of Princecraft and Lund Craft and cruise along this beautiful waterway. Why not hire a Guide for the day and catch your own fish and cook it over an open fire on the river? Our shore lunches are truly memorable!

Alternatively, enjoy nature at its best by hiking in the nearby national park trails with some of the most beautiful views in Northern Ontario, or spend the day relaxing and reading on our own private beach. Our hot tub awaits you after the hiking! You can even take a canoe or kayak and experience the river in all its natural beauty. Whatever your interests, you will likely find it here at Sand Beach Lodge.

Fishing Fishing Fishing!

Fishing adventures have long been the trademark of our lodge. The French River is regarded as one of the top waterways for walleye/pickerel in the country.

The early season offers plentiful pike and walleye with late summer and spring seeing the arrival of large and small mouth bass. Throughout the summer and well into the late fall, trophy muskie and pike invade the French River as our water temperature drops and provides the ideal fishing environment.

The Sand Beach Lodge shore lunch experience … defies description. Imagine; anchored in a beautiful bay, your freshly caught fish filleted by your guide, cooked to perfection over an open fire and served with crispy bacon, sautéed freshly cut potatoes and baked beans.

Individual Cottage Description

Choose one of 13 cottages. Each cottage is different, with one to four bedrooms and all bedrooms have an en-suite bathroom.

Most of our cottages have fireplaces and most bedrooms contain 2 double beds. Most have screened porches or decks and all have front door parking. Each has satellite t.v. and phone and internet services are available in the main lodge.

The cottages are spotless and well maintained daily.

All of our cottages have great views of the French River and are nestled in mature forest amongst majestic pines

Nature surrounds you with inquisitive wildlife, cheeky chipmunks, woodpeckers, hummingbirds and the spectacular landscape of the true Canadian wilderness with sightings of otters, muskrats, fox and moose.
