Part of the Trent Severn Waterway and located on the shores of Big Bald Lake in Buckhorn, Ontario in the Heart of the Kawarthas, 20 minutes from Peterborough. Clean and comfortable 2 and 3 bedroom Housekeeping Cottages with all the conveniences. Overnight one bedroom cabins also available.

Catalina Bay Resort is a three season resort getaway. We have a safe and sandy beach, restaurant, launching and docking facilities, country store, and worms available on site, as well as acres of tranquil trails for your enjoyment. We also rent 14' aluminum boats and motors, kayaks, canoes and paddle boats daily and weekly.

Open Year Round we have Spring and Fall getaway packages as well as limited Winter holiday packages available upon request. We are located on some of the best ski and snowmobile trails in the area. The Buckhorn area is also famous for its arts and crafts shows.

Unlike some vacation spots, the Kawarthas make all seasons a time for celebration. Spring and fall colours, star clustered summer nights and new fallen snow, give the area a sense of freshness and peace that the city will never know.

This area is blessed with breathtaking scenery that comes alive at different times in the season. On a pleasant afternoon ride you can really appreciate the beauty of nature, whether it's snowladen evergreens, or the beautiful shades of summer, spring and autumn.

All through the district, you'll find trails for hiking, biking, cross-country skiing and snowmobiling. Ice fishing is also now permitted on our lakes. Our lakes are most popular for fishing and unlimited boating and water sports. On a beautiful summers day a boat tour in to Pigeon Lake is 20 minutes away.

Our stunning sandy waterfront is safe for the whole family to enjoy.

Famous for its great fishing, species include Pickerel [Walleye], Large and Smallmouth Bass, Muskie, Perch and for our european guests some of the best Carp fishing anywhere in the Kawarthas.

The Kawartha Lakes are famous for its fishing, from the elusive Pickerel to the sporty Bass family to the mighty Muskie down to the pretty Sunfish, which you can hand feed in the summer from
our deck at our Lakeside Restaurant.

And for our European friends we have some very large and abundant Common Carp which average 25lbs. Some have been caught often up to 38lbs. Nearby sites and events:

3 Day minimum for Long Weekends and New Year.

All prices subject to HST. All day visitors must register at the office, an overnight charge of $20.00 per person applies. Otherwise charges will be applied automatically.
