Property Description

Located on the NW shores of beautiful Pigeon Lake, only one hour south of Edmonton, our 23 acres of forests and rolling hills offer a peaceful setting for your next get-away. Our two guest houses - "The Beach House #1" and "The Country Cottage #2" offer five bedrooms with full ensuite, two twin beds or one double, fully equipped kitchen and a comfortable living room with games and books. Each house has an outside fire-pit. We offer an optional linen service for a nominal fee and have wood on-site for purchase. One bedroom is handicapped accessible and features a wheelchair shower. The memorial lodge is a two story hand-hewn log lodge suitable for larger groups of 15 or more guests. It features a fully stocked catering kitchen with attached dining room and fireplace downstairs. Upstairs is a sunshine filled meeting space with private deck and fireplace. The lodge sleeps 24 guest in a dormitory setting. Guests may book one , two or all three facilities.

Rundle's Mission Activities & Hours

As you enter the site you will notice large grassy hills surrounded by an expansive forest of flora and fauna. There is ample room for a game of baseball, Bocce ball, flying a kite or sledding down the hill. Mission Beach road meanders in front of Rundle's Mission and offers a nice place to stroll along the lakeshore. For a beach swim, walk along mission beach road for 1/2 km to a roped off swimming area and playground for the kids. Behind the houses is the entrance to 220 acres of Nature Conservancy. You will discover 6 km of nature path and groomed cross country ski trails in the winter months. It makes a perfect spot for enjoying the natural environment and you might even see the moose and deer who live in these woods year round. Beside the Memorial Lodge is an Alberta Historic site with Interpretive panels depicting the history of this site and its importance to the settlement of Western Canada.

Waterfront Description & Nearby Activities

Pigeon Lake is one of Alberta's premier recreation lakes, suitable for all water activities. With two provincial parks as well as Ma-Me-O Beach all within 10 minutes, there are lots of beach and activity options. The area boasts five golf courses including a Par 3 and an additional mini-golf in the summer months. There are two main shopping areas with restaurants, grocery stores, ice-cream and candy shoppes. A spa and unique boutiques featuring cottage country crafts, furniture and resort clothing are all located within 15 minutes. Winter activities include ice-fishing, cross country skiing at both the Provincial Park and Rundle's Mission, shopping, reading a book by the fire and listening to the chickadees in the woods.

Individual Cottage Description

Both the Beach House #1 and Country Cottage #2 have five bedrooms with full ensuite bath in each room There are 3 rooms with two twin beds, One room with a double bed and one with 3 twin beds. Each house has one room that is handicapped accessible with a wheelchair shower. The center of the house features a dining room and living room with large windows to allow lots of natural light. The kitchen is fully equipped for 15 people with fridge,range, microwave, coffee make and chest freezer. All cooking utensils and dishes are supplied . There is an optional linen service for a nominal fee or you are welcome to bring your own linens. Each house has its own fire-pit to enjoy a wiener roast or campfire songs while star gazing into the night sky.

Booking can be made by using our online system at www.rundlesmission.org or by calling the office on Mondays/Tuesdays and Thursdays at (780) 389-2422.. Minimum booking of two nights on the weekends from May thru October and all Holidays. A 50% deposit is required to secure your booking. Rates may change without notice. We accept Visa/MasterCard/personal Cheque and Cash. May book one, two or all three facilities to meet your needs. We are open year round. Please inquire for availability as this changes daily.
