Located only 15 minutes from Lunenburg (UNESCO World Heritage Town) and a 1.5 hour drive from Halifax International Airport. The Back Shore is one of the most spectacular, unspoiled sites in Nova Scotia. This very secluded 30-acre location at Mosher’s Beach is cradled by surrounding pastoral hills, with extensive walking trails, access and ocean views to Gaff Point Nature Trust and Hirtle’s Beach. Built on what was once the 400 year old ruins of an abandoned village, this environmentally sensitive enclave focuses on the undisturbed beauty of the South Shore. Individual or multiple cottages can be rented on a weekly basis. The entire site can also be rented offering the solitude of a "lost village at the end of the earth".

We stayed at Shobac for 2 wonderful weeks and enjoyed every minute. Well provisioned, the cottage had everything you could possibly need and more.The setting is absolutely extraordinary.
Kingsburg is a very special place! We loved the peacefulness of the area and the close proximity to fine dining, cultural events and unique shopping.
We will be back!
We arrived on a rainy day to find each cottage spotless and the wood stoves just needing a match. It was easy to snuggle in and let the wind blow outside. This was the beginning of our nothing less than perfect week at Shobac.
Our families gathered here the week before our wedding and spent time enjoying the many sites and luxuries Shobac and the surrounding area has to offer. I only left the site once as there was so much to do and I assumed nothing could be more beautiful elsewhere. There were even horses in the pasture, which made this place that much more fairytalesque. A must: hike to the look-off cabin with a bottle of wine at sunset.
Our wedding day proved to be magical. A few flowers and stones from the beach were all that were required as Shobac offers a beauty that can not be upstaged, only complimented. We used the lawn and large stage for our ceremony, the barn for our dinner, and the studio and massive fire pit for the party. This provided a nice flow to the evening and offered our guests new elements to enjoy.
Wedding Guests Comments: "I feel I'm at a movie star's wedding"; "This is the most beautiful wedding I've been to".
Shobac is truly a magical place as was our wedding day!
