Located only 15 minutes from Lunenburg (UNESCO World Heritage Town) and a 1.5 hour drive from Halifax International Airport. The Back Shore is one of the most spectacular, unspoiled sites in Nova Scotia. This very secluded 30-acre location at Mosher’s Beach is cradled by surrounding pastoral hills, with extensive walking trails, access and ocean views to Gaff Point Nature Trust and Hirtle’s Beach. Built on what was once the 400 year old ruins of an abandoned village, this environmentally sensitive enclave focuses on the undisturbed beauty of the South Shore. Individual or multiple cottages can be rented on a weekly basis. The entire site can also be rented offering the solitude of a "lost village at the end of the earth".

We really enjoyed our stay at Shobac. It’s a beautiful place, and a perfect location for day trips to discover all that Nova Scotia has to offer. We will be back.
When reflecting on my stay at this wonderful cottage last summer, relaxation takes over my being. If I were to buy a cottage in Nova Scotia, this would be the style for me. On the water, walk to the beach and located on the South Shore. The cottage was so clean and comfortable we really felt at home. The Cottage Connection was there when we needed them but never intruded on our private getaway. This property is definitely a treasure. We have made our reservations for next year.
Shobac is a magical private retreat where eagles, osprey and seabirds fly by at eye level. You have the best worlds here. Shobac offer the ultimate in privacy and peacefulness with easy access to Lunenburg, Mahone Bay and Chester. A jewel in Canada's most desired summer address. We will be back
We've stayed here two summers in a row and plan to keep going back. The owners are helpful, the cottage is clean and has everything you need, and the ocean and beach are magnificent. We especially enjoy the on-site kayaks and deck that overlooks the water. We love it!
Our families gathered here the week before our wedding and spent time enjoying the many sites and luxuries Shobac and the surrounding area has to offer. There were even horses in the pasture, which made this place that much more fairytalesque. A must: hike to the look-off cabin with a bottle of wine at sunset.
Shobac is truly a magical place .
