Located on eight acres with huge decks, docks, screened-in gazebos and sandy beaches with shallow water entry - great for kids! A gazebo on patio between the two cottages. Each cottage is exclusively private but only The Colonel Cottage is available in 2013. High-speed Internet and telephone access and laundry facilities nearby. Weekly or weekend availability starting late April. The Colonel cottage is 2 bedrooms and sleeps 4 + 2 (with the sofa-bed). There is an option to sleep another 2 people with the nearby 2 room bunkhouse. The Colonel Cottage has a new, ensuite 4-piece bathroom (tub and shower). Each cottage is well equipped with: all kitchen utensils/ dishes/ cutlery, microwave, new 19" TVs (in 2004) with Star Choice satellite connection, VCR and DVD player, briquette BBQ at the waterfront, propane BBQ on the upper decks, electric baseboard heaters, patio set(s) and boats: aluminum rowboat, 3-man canoe, paddleboat with lifejackets. In 2013 only the Colonel cottage is available with $4000-5000 worth of recent renovations inside and out: painting, larger bathroom with shower/tub, new vinyl flooring in LR/DR/kitchen.

The Colonel Cottage has new white vinyl lattice on the deck railings for child safety. Beaches are sandy bottom with significant wading areas on both sides of the dock at The Colonel Cottage. The sandy beach can be walked for about 300 of the 600 available waterfront footage.

Waterfront Description & Nearby Activities

Excellent boating, fishing, swimming, walking, cycling, golfing (12 nearby courses), scuba diving hiking, and bird watching are all part of the outdoor enjoyment.. The bird and wildlife sanctuary is nearby.

The lake bottom is sandy and water is warmer and clearer than surrounding lakes because this is the feeder lake of the Rideau Lake System (including Bob's Lake and other surrounding lakes). We are the highest point in elevation in the Rideau Lakes.

Choose the canoe, 14 foot aluminum boat, or paddleboat. Docking privileges, propane and briquette BBQs are included. Linens and towels are extra.

Rates above are for maximum of four people. Babes-in-arms are free.

Last minute special (low season): $295/ 3 days-2 nights, $395/wk. Price for max. of 4. Extra charge for extra people up to six total in the cottage and two persons in the bunkhouse.

Please call the cottage owner for further rate details. Rates are quoted for 4 people including children. Babes-in-arms are free. Included in the rate is paddleboat with 4 lifejackets, rowboat, and canoe, briquette BBQ at the waterfront, telephone and hi-speed Internet nearby, pillows, blankets and bedspreads, bottled drinking water and Thursday garbage pickup.

Options include bunkhouse, pets, linens, tent, mountain bike.

Booking Deposit ($250.00CN for Colonel or $1250CN for Major). Due within 3-5 days of booking to secure reservation. Held as a security deposit and returned as $200 in the post unless a portion is needed to cover damage or change in the number of guests or other options, long distance phone charges or to cover the Cancellation fee. The $50 is deducted for administrative fee. Date deposit cheque for date of the application.

Enclosed: I enclose cheque / money order for Booking Deposit (if making application more than 30 days prior to the rental period). Total Amount Owed (if making application within 30 days of the start of rental period). For foreign currency transactions, any unpaid amounts owed or refunds paid will reflect the current rate of exchange and currency exchange charges at the time of payment.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellation fee per rental period (applicable only in last 45 days) $200 to be kept from the $250 deposit.
