Travelling to Land O' Lakes, Ontario
With over 5,000 lakes and some of the most beautiful scenery in Eastern Ontario, Land O’ Lakes offers waterfront cottage rentals nestled in the pine forests of the province’s highlands.
The region is, of course, a preferred destination of sunbathers, swimmers and water sport enthusiasts, who take to the thousands of lakes on boats, canoes, and kayaks. Likewise, Land O’Lakes is a fishing hotspot, with catches of brook and lake trout, small and large mouth bass, and northern pike.
Back on land, golfers can hit the links at The Rivendell Golf Club and the Loyalist Golf and Country Club or hit the trails at Frontenac Provincial Park. Hiking and biking are popular in the summer, while cross-country skiing and showshoeing are favourites come winter. The area also offers trails for ATVing and snowmobiling.
As a Land O’ Lakes hub, the colonial town of Kingston is within easy driving distance from most cottage rentals. With plenty of restaurants, cafés, and pubs in the city, there is no shortage of places to retire to after a day on the water or trails. Further, cidery and winery tours are possible in neighbouring Prince Edward County.
Only a two or three hours’ drive from Montréal, Toronto, Ottawa and Upstate New York, Land O’Lakes is a popular place to rent a cottage in Ontario.
