Travelling to Kootenay Bay, British Columbia
Located along the eastern shores of Kootenay Lake, Kootenay Bay is bounded by the Selkirk Mountain range to the west and the Purcell range to the east, and is home to a small lakeside resort community, with a variety of cottages for rent. Popular summer pastimes include hiking along the shore and on trails in the region, canoeing and kayaking on the lake, and golfing at nearby Kokanee Springs Golf Resort, one of Canada’s finest championship courses. Snowmobiling is a common wintertime pursuit. Year-round fishing is available on the lake and in smaller creeks and rivers close by; locals and visitors regularly catch whitefish and three varieties of trout. Also be sure to check out the many artisans of nearby Crawford Bay if you’re renting a Kootenay Bay cabin rental, including blacksmiths, glassblowers, jewelers, potters, weavers, and more!
