Niagara on the Lake became an official Canadian town in 1792. It is located at the mouth of the Niagara River on the southern shore of Lake Ontario - close to the State of New York. Within Niagara on the Lake, you'll find such communities as Queenston, Virgil, St. David's, McNab, Glendale and Homer, among others.

The natural beauty is a main attraction for tourists and cottagers in Niagara on the Lake, and the town prides itself on this. Niagara on the Lake even won an award from Communities in Bloom, for tidiness, Environmental Awareness, Urban forestry, Heritage Conservation, Floral Displays, Landscaped Areas, and more. Town for Sports 

When in Niagara on the Lake, check out Virgil Sports Park, in the community of Virgil. At the park, you can play or observe a game of Lacrosse, hockey, softball, or soccer.  If you're in the park on Victoria Day weekend, enjoy the annual Virgil's Stampede, which is a big carnival and midway - with pig racing, mud bogging, nickel sale, ATV and Trucks, mechanical bull riding, and more! 

Historical Sites 

Historical landmarks abound in Niagara on the Lake. Grab your camera and look out for the following: The Apothecary Pharmacy Museum, which dates back to 1869; St. Marks Church, 1791; McFarland House, around 1800; Old Court House Theatre, 1847; and, more!
