We offer an excellent atmosphere for family vacations. Great moose, bear and grouse Hunting. Fishing for northern pike, walleye, bass, and perch. Truly a remote wilderness location, Argyle Lake Lodge is set in the James Bay Frontier Bush. Miles from our nearest neighbors, we are the only tourist camp on a series of four lakes. Explore infinite hiking and canoeing possibilities or just relax on our natural sandy beach. Access to hundreds of miles of ATV trails that loop back to the lodge for great riding adventures. You can also explore an old abandoned gold mine in the area. At Argyle Lake Lodge we have fully equipped housekeeping cottages with modern appliances, hot and cold water, showers and electric lights. Cooking utensils, dishes, blankets and pillows are supplied. Boat and motor rentals and canoe rentals are available. Live bait, gas, oil, fishing and hunting licenses can all be purchased on location.

Fishing & Hunting

Fishing
Over 100 lakes and streams are located within a five-mile radius of your cottage. Some waters can be reached from the side of the road. Other lakes and streams require extra effort to launch a canoe, but the results of fishing secluded water can be most rewarding. In addition the pike, walleye, bass, perch and speckled trout are also indigenous to many of these northern lakes and streams.

Well-maintained boats and motors are available on a rental basis. Live bait, gas, oil, fishing and hunting licenses can all be purchased on location. Enjoy the use of our fish cleaning hut after a long day of fishing. It is screened in with electric lights. There is a fish cleaning bench with an electric fillet knife, a sink and manual pump for running water.

Bear Hunting
At Argyle Lake Lodge we offer fall bear hunting. Fall hunting is an excellent bear hunt based on our previous success rates. The hunts are all conducted from ground blinds over active bear baits. Hunters are welcome to bring their own portable tree stands if so desired. Freezing and assistance in the preparation of bear for transportation is provided free of charge.

Moose Hunting
Argyle Lake is located in Wildlife Management area #29, which has an excellent reputation with bow and rifle hunters. Our unique drive-in bush location allows us to offer one of the better opportunities for moose hunting in the area. With numerous roads and bush trails surrounding the camp you are only minutes away from potential hunt sites. Wildlife Management Unit #29 has a separate and distinct season for bow hunters.

Small Game Hunting
Not only are there some excellent bear and moose hunting in our area, but the opportunity also exists for snowshoe hare, ruffed grouse and spruce grouse hunting. Why not join us this year and give it a shot.

Hunt, fish and explore infinite hiking, ATV and canoeing possibilities, or just relax on our natural sandy beach.

Access to hundreds of miles of ATV trails that begin right from Argyle Lake Lodge. Trails vary to accommodate everyone from ATV beginners or the experienced rider. Pack a lunch and spend the day exploring the beautiful scenic northern wilderness.

All cottages at Argyle Lake Lodge come fully equipped for housekeeping with modern appliances and electric lights. Cooking utensils, dishes, blankets and pillows are supplied. Wood stoves provide a cozy atmosphere. Our self contained cottages vary in size from the two room log cabin to two and three bedroom units complete with three piece washroom facilities. Guests are responsible for their own personal towels, soap, toiletries and bed linens.

You will really enjoy your stay in our new Deluxe Cabin. Offering a great view of the lake and a nice private location at the Lodge. It has an open concept living room and kitchen. There is a propane furnace for heat on cool nights. Three bedrooms with accommodations for up to eight people. Two of the bedrooms have queen size beds and the third bedroom has two sets of bunk beds. There is also a large spacious bathroom with a large storage closet. We provide patio chairs for the screened in front porch on the front of the cottage and Barbeques are also included.
