The historic Mount Julian Resort was added to Viamede in 2003, whereupon it was entirely renovated. The four cottages offer the best views of the lake, and seclusion. They are closest to the Spa as well as the Inn at Mount Julian, Viamede’s gourmet restaurant which reopened in the spring of 2011.

Cottage 433 – our most intimate bed-sitting cottage perfect for a romantic escape. Nestled right at the water’s edge featuring a king size bed and walkout veranda.

About The Resort

In May of 1613, Samuel de Champlain set off to explore the Ottawa River. Had he explored 200 km farther to the south, he may have passed by a small oak tree, barely taller than its peers.

This oak tree still stands today, a tribute to the rich history of Viamede. From a tiny acorn almost a half-century ago has sprung a mighty oak.

Viamede’s ongoing restoration takes inspiration from the tree. We ask ourselves not what will bring about the greatest growth today, but what will allow Viamede to stand tall for our children, and grandchildren.

Viamede’s logo, a V growing into an oak leaf, reminds us daily of the strength and perseverance needed to withstand storms. Firmly rooted in our history, in the local community, and in the fond memories of guests, Viamede will stand alongside the oak for generations.

Viamede offers a plethora of activities, from kayaking and Sea-Dooing in the summer to snowshoeing and pond hockey in the winter with our Stoney Lake cottages for rent.

Our three restaurants, The Boathouse Pub, The Dining Room, & The Inn at Mount Julian each offer a distinct style with the same commitment to quality. Our fledgling farm provides unique menu items for all three, and will continue to grow.

Our Marina is the launching point for our guests to explore Stoney Lake, as well as offering nightly or seasonal mooring to boats. Boaters have full use of our facilities as well as one of the nicest views on the Trent Severn.

We display several local artists at any given time. Some of these are for sale, while others are displayed from private collections. Many guests will recognise scenes from the area.

For weddings, conferences, or other special events, we have a full events team to help you arrange anything you may need.

With all of this and more here at Viamede, the only thing you have to worry about is making it back in time for dinner.

All cottage rates are midweek and based on double occupancy, and include breakfast and seasonal activities. Please add $15 per night for each additional guest, as well as $50 for Friday or Saturdays.

Due to the complexities of booking cottages, we ask that guests call us to book their cottage.
