Welcome to Oak Bay Resort

We are a quiet family owned & operated resort boasting 7 lakefront fully equipped housekeeping cottages and 1 park home all on Upper Buckhorn Lake at Lock 31. Located just 20 minutes north of Peterborough in the heart of Buckhorn and a short walk to waterfront restaurants, convenience & grocery stores, LCBO, pharmacy, hardware store, trinket and antique shops. There are many local farmers markets/berry patches, winery and marinas just a short drive away.

Whether you are looking for a fishing getaway, a boating excursion or simply a relaxing family vacation, Oak Bay Resort is the place for you.

Buckhorn Attractions

We invite you to discover the beauty of Buckhorn and its surrounding area, there are few places in Canada as visually stunning as the Kawartha Lakes area with open spaces, waterways and and abundance of birds and wildlife, with many unusual geographical features.

The Buckhorn area is rich in culture with its many art galleries, antique stores and flea markets with hundreds of world class cultural events and attractions.

From Spring through Fall, canoe, kayak and boat rentals are available. If you dream of catching that big fish then this is the place to drop your fishing line, with an abundance of Pickerel, Small and Largemouth Bass, Muskie, Perch, Crappie and Panfish, and for our European friends some very large and abundant Common Carp.

Sandy beaches and picnic areas provide enjoyment for those who prefer to stay on land, with hundreds of miles of nature trails and canoe routes for the more adventuresome.

Winter in Buckhorn is just as much fun with access to snowmobile trails, cross country skiing, snowshoe trails and ice fishing a short distance away, with endless possibilities "imagine what awaits" in Buckhorn.

Property Amenities & Features

Description du chalet

Spacious living area with modern, quality furnishings. Bedrooms have an extra long double bed or two singles, Beds are excellent quality and are complete with pillows and protector covers, mattress covers and bedspreads. Linen can be provided for a nominal fee.

Each cottage comes complete with a propane BBQ, patio table and chairs on a large deck, free use of the canoes and pedalboats, kayaks and your own fire pit for those family gatherings or romantic evenings. Firewood is available in the village at a nominal charge.

Oak Bay Resort has a Laundromat on site which is available to all guests as well as to the public. It has 3 washers and 4 dryers and is cold water wash only.

Linen Rental:
Bed linen only, is $10.00/bed. Full linen package is $16.00/bed which includes 1 set of sheets, pillow cases, personal towels and kitchen towels.

Pets:
All pets must be approved prior to arrival. Cost is $50 per week and $25 per weekend. Only one pet allowed per cottage. Pets not allowed in or around the beach and must not be left unattended.

Extra Person Charge: [by prior arrangement only]
All extra persons over the stated number per cottage will be $15.00 per night or $75.00 per week. No charge for infants under 2 years of age.

Cancellation Policy

Deposits will be refunded if cancellation is made 30 days prior to scheduled arrival date, less a $30 administration fee. There will be no return of deposits after June 1st unless the unit has been rebooked, otherwise full payment is required.
