Welcome to the quiet hamlet of Woodslee. Your hosts Jackson and Mila Baldwin welcome you to our wonderful home and we hope that you enjoy your stay with us. The Woodslee Bed and Breakfast features three large rooms with queen, double and twin beds. Ensuite or private bath.

The elegance and comfort of our rooms are not the only reason that people keep coming back. Our gourment, home made breakfast is also at the top of the list. Our specialties such as ginger pear cream cheese cups, blueberry croissant puffs, vegetable pie and Canadian back bacon and decadent french toast and ham are just a few of the wonderful dishes on our menu.

Relax beside the fish pond on a warm summer afternoon or curl up with a good book by the fireplace in our sunken living room on a cold winter's night.

Children and pets are welcome to our family friendly and smoke free home and we are open year round.

We are located just 5 minutes off the 401, close to the communities of Essex, Belle River, Kingsville and Leamington.

Essex Attractions

Canadian Transportation Museum:
The museum contains some of the finest collections of antique, vintage and hot rod cars and trucks in Canada South. Some of these vehicles include the oldest internal combustion engine car made in Canada in 1893 and it still runs. Furthermore, there are original, and fully restored, hallmark vehicles from the 19th and 20th century, from horse drawn wagons to a Dodge Viper. There is also a full representation of the vehicles that were made in Southwestern Ontario throughout the 20th century, as well as race cars, hot rods, cabriolets, open touring, early brass era, roadsters, convertibles, hard tops, taxi cabs, pick up trucks, tractors, wagons, motorcycles, bicycles, penny farthings, railroad, and military vehicles of all sorts.

Heritage Village:
Heritage village contains a collection of 20 heritage buildings from the late 1700s up to the late 1920s. Each building is displayed with the furniture, artifacts and historical items of the day. A few attractions include the first house in Essex County to have been built using electricity, and an 1840s era general store. You will be able to see what the general store had to offer its customers more than 150 years ago. You can walk into an 1890s jail, or experience firsthand life as it would have been lived in this area from inside a real log cabin. The friendly staff will introduce you to a real live Edwardian one- room schoolhouse complete with desks, ink wells, and yes homework if you so desire. Need a hair cut or perhaps a simple bleeding? Are your shoes in need of repair? Feel like worshipping as one did in our 1880s non denominational church? Or perhaps you would like to catch a train at our Tecumseh, Ontario train station from the early 20th century? Or maybe you just want to pitch some hay in one of our barns or enjoy a nice walk down the nature trail? You can enjoy all this and more at Heritage Village.

Nathan's Room
Nathan's Room is a spacious, well appointed suite featuring an ensuite bath, gas fireplace and a cozy sitting area. Guests will enjoy comfort with the cozy queen sized bed and security with their own room key and house key during their stay. Nathan's Room also features beautiful hard wood floors, TV and VCR, double closet, a large, bright picture window and ceiling fan. The room also comes with 2 warm, cozy bathrobes and complimentary snacks, juice and ice.

Colleen's Room
Colleen's Room is a bright and cozy room featuring warm carpeting, double bed, closet and a large bright window. Complimentary bathrobes, snacks, juice and ice are included. Shared full bath and secured key locked door.

Jennifer's Room
Jennifer's Room features 2 twin sized beds, full closet, carpeting and a large bright window. Bathroom is shared. Complimentary bathrobes, snacks, juice and ice are included. The room is key locked for security.
