"Welcome to Halverson’s" says a lot about our camp. For years Halverson’s has accommodated outdoorsman and families alike and always treated them as part of the family. Halverson's Camp is located on the shores of Crow Lake in Nestor Falls, Ontario. Crow Lake offers anglers the opportunity to target lake trout, smallmouth bass, and some of the best clear water muskie fishing in the area.

Lake of the Woods certainly famous by name alone is accessed by our guests on our own private landing five minutes directly across from us. The landing situates you in Stevens Bay and gives you access to some of the best fresh water fishing anywhere. Guests fishing Lake of the Woods target walleyes, smallmouth, perch, crappies, northern pike, and of course the top predator the muskie. Stevens Bay and the surrounding area have long been known as the muskie hunters play ground.

During the winter months anglers enjoy some excellent hard water action. Crow Lake offers you the opportunity to experience some of the best lake trout fishing through the ice in our area. Whether utilizing our local ice road or heading out on your own on your snow machine Lake of the Woods treats anglers to some excellent crappie, walleye, and northern pike fishing. Looking to explore more of Lake of the Woods than head over to White Fish Bay for some lake trout and northern pike fishing. When it comes to ice fishing our area offers easy access and great fishing.

Besides great fishing Halverson's is located in an excellent area to hunt for whitetails. Over the years the hunting pressure has gone down and our deer herd has continued to grow and be healthy. If you are looking for a hunt on your own package Halverson's is an excellent choice.

Fishing & Hunting

Fishing
Crow Lake offers guests a unique opportunity to fish for lake trout, small mouth bass, and muskies. For those who have never fished muskies in clear water it can be one of the biggest adrenaline rushes out there for an angler. Crow Lake muskies are known for their girth as they get over forty inches due to their mainly trout and whitefish diet. Hard fighting lake trout are found throughout the season and many first time lake trout fisherman and veterans are hooked on their fighting power. Small mouth bass can be seen swimming in back bays and put up a tremendous fight. Anglers are treated with fish over three pounds.

Guests who stay with Halverson's have the opportunity to fish two completely different but outstanding fisheries. Lake of the Woods famous for its multi species opportunities is located five minutes directly across the road from us. With our own private landing and launch guests can be enjoying some of the best fresh water fishing in the world minutes from our landing. Lake of the Woods boasts some amazing walleye, crappie, small mouth bass, large mouth bass, northern pike, jumbo perch and of course the top predator the muskie.

Hunting
At Halverson's we find ourselves lucky enough to be in the heart of some great whitetail country. For along time Northwestern Ontario has been off the radar for being a trophy Whitetail destination that gives a hunter a great opportunity to experience hunting a different area than many are used to.

With thick bush, high ridges, and an abundants of lakes in our area it allows our whitetails the opportunity to grow to trophy status. Our whitetails are not farm grazing whitetails. They are big bodied and tough in every sense of the word. They will swim long distances, traverse high ridge cuts, and use the thick brush to avoid detection. That being said many of our hunters have enjoyed success in our area.

Halverson’s allows families to enjoy the outdoors. Children can safely swim while parents supervise and relax on the beach, dock or kicked back on a lawn chair. With eight acres of property on the lake, children have room to run and explore. The paddleboat and canoe are both available for use to guests staying with us.

After a day of swimming, fishing off the dock for the many bass, or catching crawfish on the shoreline, the perfect ending to the day is sitting around our fire pit and trying to roast a golden marshmallow.

To show our commitment to families we offer kids under 12 stay free. At Halverson’s we believe that young people need to experience what nature has to offer and believe in making it affordable enough to allow that to happen.

Our cabins and self-contained suites boast beautiful views of the lake. All rentals have been stocked with dishes, microwaves, and clean bedding and linen. Our rentals are based on light housekeeping allowing you the opportunity to be self-sufficient.
