Ambleside Lodge is a Canmore Bed & Breakfast, which offers the rustic charm of a wooden lodge nestled in the midst of a spectacular mountain landscape. Breathtaking mountain scenery surrounds you on all sides, with the great outdoors on your doorstep a natural world full of wonders awaits.

Situated in the small Rocky Mountain town of Canmore; a mixture of old and new, with a history dating back to 1883 and the coming of the railroad, a mining community that came alive with the hosting of the 1988 Winter Olympic Games Nordic events. A growing town, Canmore nevertheless retains its charm. Canmore is a renowned centre for many outdoor sporting activities; golf, hiking, rock climbing, mountain biking, canoeing, kayaking and rafting in the summer and for the winter; ice climbing, Nordic and downhill skiing, snowshoeing, ice walks and dog sledding.

The interior of Ambleside Lodge is predominantly pine and showcases a unique, spectacular fireplace (one of the largest in Canmore) boasting 18 tons of river rock supported by 4 tons of cement. This feature is the centerpiece of a spacious lounge area that is comfortable and cozy, ideal for relaxing in front of the log fire.

Canmore is just a one and one half hours drive from Calgary International Airport and only a short 15-minute drive from the world-renowned town of Banff, situated in the heart of historical Banff National Park. Canmore is also less than one hours drive from the equally famous Lake Louise.

When you stay with Sue and Dave at Ambleside Lodge you can expect, and will receive a warm welcome and hospitality at its best. Enjoy our spacious hot tub after a days sightseeing, hiking or skiing or relax in the outdoor barrel sauna. Sleep well in one of our three guest suites, and wake up to one of Sue's sumptuous gourmet breakfasts with which to send you on your way for the day!

A gourmet three-course breakfast is served, with all dietary needs catered for. Have a look at some typical examples of our three-course gourmet menu, which we guarantee will set you up for the day.

All breakfasts are served with coffee or tea, juice and toast with various jams and marmalades.

Dave is a Hiking Guide with the Association of Canadian Mountain Guides and has extensive local area knowledge to assist you in making the most of your stay and in planning your excursions.

Our friend Karen is a qualified massage therapist and relaxing aromatic massages can be arranged in the comfort of your own room. Karen's main aim is to help her clients towards optimum health, by relieving specific pain, tension and stress, whilst facilitating a feeling of total relaxation and wellbeing. She specializes in deep tissue work yet tailors each treatment to meet the specific requirements of the individual, easing or deepening pressure and adjusting areas of focus as required.

Ambleside Lodge, a Canmore luxury B&B is only a 10 minute stroll to Canmore’s main street with its excellent shopping, art galleries and restaurants and other points of interest.

Choose from two spacious queen bedded rooms, both with en-suite bathrooms. Tastefully decorated, each room presents its own individual character and charm and has an abundance of closet and cupboard space.

Skylights are a pleasant feature through which can be viewed the glory of the stars by night and the magnificence of the mountains by day.

Cancellation Policy

Please endeavor to provide at least 21 days notice if you wish to cancel your booking and your deposit will be returned. If you cancel less than 21 days prior to arrival or fail to arrive and we are unable to fill this vacancy, you will be liable for the full amount or part payment if we are able to partially fill the vacancy. By supplying a reservation deposit you are acknowledging your acceptance of these terms. An administration fee of $25.00 will be levied against any cancellations.
