Our remote family owned and operated resort has the atmosphere of home. This resort was established in the 1920′s. We are the fifth owners and have been here since 1990. Starting in 1996 we began a process of tearing down the old and replacing it with new. No more rustic cabins which just meant old. We have eight cabin rentals all are fully housekeeping although we do have a dining room and offer meal plans to those you just want to relax and do no cooking themselves. Along with all our cabins being rebuilt, we also have a rebuilt fish cleaning house and dock store. Our docks and pier are always being upgraded. Last year we built new docks and made our pier much larger in 2006. We now have an 8-seater hot tub and new lounge chairs and tables with umbrellas on the new pier overlooking the lake for your comfort. It is very important to us to make your trip here everything you want it to be.

We have a sandy beach with a kayak, canoe, paddle boat, all free to use. There is also a recreational games room free to use with a pool table, Fooz Ball, board games and play station. For those exercise enthusiasts we have a Life Cycle and a state of the art BowFlex Ultimate Two.

Hunting & Fishing

Fishing
Lake of the Woods is one of Ontario’s top fishing lakes known for its multi-species opportunities. From its abundant populations of walleye, largemouth and smallmouth bass along with its international reputation for muskie, the lake is truly and angler’s paradise. Northern pike, lake trout and crappie are also abundant. With a surface area covering one million acres and 14,000 islands, the lake a maginificent work of nature with fish holding structure everywhere.

Indianhead lodge offers guided fishing trips on Lake of the Woods. Let us help you familiarize yourself with the lake and show you where the fish are holding and how to catch them. Our experienced guides ensure a great time on the water.

Hunting
Our guided hunts take place in Northwestern Ontario’s Pristine, remote wilderness. We have one of the largest populations as well as the some of the biggest Whitetail Deer in all of North America! The Boreal forest of our region is an excellent home for Trophy Deer to live. Northwestern Ontario’s deer are big. This is due to genetics as well as the environment the Deer live in.

Our region is known for it’s rugged terrain. We have deep, thick forest and cold winter temperatures which cause the Deer to be more active and eat a lot. Deer need large muscular bodies to survive in these conditions. Our recent milder winters and the excellent food supply have helped the Deer grow Larger racks and helped them increase in number. Now more than ever is the best time to Deer hunt in Northwestern Ontario.

We have a few different options for guests who are looking to stay with us during hunting season. There are daily guide trips available which includes the guide, a boat and fuel. We also offer a remote guided camping trip which is 6 days, 7 nights.

The resort is located 9 kilometres or 6 miles south of the quaint little town of Sioux Narrows, Ontario, Canada. We are nestled on Snake Bay right off of the famous Whitefish Bay on Lake of the Woods. This section of the lake has crystal clear water and has depths of over 100′, housing some of the largest fish on this lake.

Indianhead Lodge’s accommodations are beautiful two and three bedroom cabins or call them cottages which ever you prefer. They all have fabulous views of the Lake of the Woods. Whether you are looking for Canada fishing accommodations, a cabin rental for your family vacation or for a relaxing getaway in Ontario, Indianhead Lodge won’t disappoint you.

A vacation in one of our deluxe cabins is what makes all the difference. We provide you with excellent service and the cabins are very well-maintained. There are many extras you won’t find elsewhere including whirlpool tubs, fireplace, separate dining areas and very comfortable sleeping quarters.

Our eight cabins are all newly constructed with the oldest being built in 1996. Enjoy the convenience of a fully-equipped kitchen including fridge, stove and microwave oven. Each cabin has a propane barbecue and there is a fire pit near each one for your outdoor enjoyment. Our cabins come in a variety of sizes and can meet your needs whatever the size of your party. Add on the American Plan package and you’ll get awesome meals to go along with the deluxe lakefront view.

Tamarack Cabin - 3 bedrooms, 2 stories, 3 double beds, 9 singles, 2 futon couches and fireplace.
Poplar Cabin - 3 Bedrooms, 2 stories, 4 double beds, 4 single beds. 1 futon in livingroom. Fireplace.
Ash Cabin - 2 Bedrooms, 2 double beds, 6 single beds, & fireplace.
Oak Cabin - 2 bedrooms, whirlpool tub, fireplace. 2 double beds, 2 sets extra long single bunks, 1 one-bed-couch.
Birch Cabin - 2 bedrooms, 180 sq. ft. screened porch, fireplace, 2 double beds, 2 sets extra long single bunks, 1 one-bed-couch.
Pine Cabin - 2 bedrooms, 2 double beds, 1 set of extra long single bunks, 1 futon.
Maple Cabin - 2 bedroom with 2 queen beds one set of bunks, one single.
