Located in Shelburne County on Lake Deception on the south shore of Nova Scotia, Morning Mist Cottage has evolved over 33 years since the first section of the cottage was built. If you are looking for a cottage that is private look no further. Morning Mist Cottage is situated on 62 acres of woodland and is a secluded sanctuary for you and your friends or family.

Owner/operator, Pauline Raymond Blades, invites you to settle back and have loads of fun as you swim, canoe, and play on your private vacation for complete relaxation, and rejuvenation.

Morning Mist Cottage has been renovating this summer. A new 12 foot patio door with stain glass transoms and new deck have increased the character and charm and bring the vibrant woods and water inside. Morning Mist Cottage offers you a home away from home with all the amenities; full kitchen, wood burning fireplace, outdoor fireplace, new wireless, cedar sauna and open space and bedrooms to accommodate 2 to 10 guests; the ultimate retreat.

Skylights and an old fashioned stone and brick fireplace add to the ambiance and are open to the living room / dining room. Two full 4-piece baths and one half bath in the loft, our social/therapeutic 9 person outdoor spa, queen/king pillow top beds and soothing furniture provide comfort with a country feel.

Explore Shelburne

Visit the beautiful town of Shelburne, home of the famous Shelburne Dory nestled on a beautiful natural harbour. The town was founded in 1783 by approximately 10,000 United Empire and Black Loyalists who arrived on vessels from New York.

Today, the town is much smaller (pop. 2245), but there are many historical reminders of the loyalist founders. You may want to discover the history of Shelburne, swim in the ocean or attend one of our many festivals. On a leisurely stroll through the Historic Waterfront you will find galleries, antique and gift shops, restaurants, kayak and bike rentals, a marina and an arts centre.
