The scenery is captivating - Cape Islanders and Lobster boats float past, while sea birds fly overhead. Occasionally a deer will wander into the garden for a look around.

Just 5 minutes to Barrington Passage; 35 minutes to the historic town of Shelburne and 45 minutes to Yarmouth, this delightful Nova Scotia cottage rental is close enough to civilization, but just far away enough to “get away from it all”.

If you can tear yourself away from view and the peaceful tranquility of this cottage to do some exploring, the River Hills Golf Club is 30 minutes away. Sand Hills Beach with its lovely white sand dunes is about 20 minutes away, while the fantastic Hawk Beach on Cape Sable Island is approximately 20 minutes drive. Halifax, Lunenburg, Chester and Digby are all within easy day trip distance.

The original 180 year old homestead has been completely renovated, updating the home while maintaining its original charm. A huge great room with large picture windows capitalizes on the spectacular ocean vistas. Two comfortable couches, a couple of antique rocking chairs and a functional dining set, make this a welcoming space.

Completing the downstairs floor plan is a large fully equipped, eat-in kitchen, den, a 4-piece bathroom with laundry facilities and a sunny master bedroom with a queen size bed and an ocean view. Upstairs are two charming bedrooms – one with two twin beds; the other with a ¾ size bed and a 2-piece powder room.

From the great room, walk out onto the deck and enjoy your morning coffee overlooking the sun-lit seas. Breathe in the fresh ocean breezes and watch fishing vessels cruise by on their way to work. With over 1000 feet of ocean frontage and a huge garden, Ocean’s Playground is an ideal location for families. There is plenty of safe playing space for children by the cottage itself and a “kid tested” play park a little ways down the road. The large lawn is an ideal practice green for the golfing enthusiast. So before you head off to the local golf course, grab the cottage clubs and practice your putting.

To secure your vacation rental, a deposit of $500.00 CDN per week and the damage deposit waiver are due upon booking. Your booking is not confirmed until this deposit has been received. The balance of the rental fee is due 90 days prior to your arrival. Payment can be made either by Email Transfer, Visa, MasterCard or personal cheque in Canadian Dollars.

Cancellation Policy

Should you need to cancel your Nova Scotia vacation rental reservation; your cancellation notice must be made in writing - either by fax, email or mail.
For cancellations received before 90 days prior to occupancy and after a deposit has been made, $250 shall be forfeited from the $500 Reservation Deposit.
For cancellations received between 60 and 90 days prior to your arrival date, 50% of the total rental fee is forfeited.
For cancellations received between 30 and 60 days prior to your arrival date, 75% of the total rental fee is forfeited.
For cancellations received less than 30 days prior to the arrival date, 100% of the total rental fee is forfeited.
