Nestled on the cliffs of Nova Scotia's South Shore, the Shobac Cottages provide the ultimate getaway for those seeking a luxurious retreat, or a relaxing vacation. Combining Internationally acclaimed architect and owner, Brian MacKay-Lyons vision of ocean, land and contemporary form, these four (4) innovative cottages embrace the dramatic beauty overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and LaHave Islands. Located only 15 minutes from Lunenburg (UNESCO World Heritage Town) and a 1.5 hour drive from Halifax International Airport. The Back Shore is one of the most spectacular, unspoiled sites in Nova Scotia. This very secluded 30-acre location at Mosher’s Beach is cradled by surrounding pastoral hills, with extensive walking trails, access and ocean views to Gaff Point Nature Trust and Hirtle’s Beach. Built on what was once the 400 year old ruins of an abandoned village, this environmentally sensitive enclave focuses on the undisturbed beauty of the South Shore. Individual or multiple cottages can be rented on a weekly basis. The entire site can also be rented offering the solitude of a "lost village at the end of the earth".

SPECIAL CONDITIONS AND OTHER RATE INFORMATION:
Each of the four cottages offers an open second floor loft with a queen bed and a bedroom with two twin beds on the main floor. Two additional overflow sleeping places exist on the living room raised plinth. Each unit has one bathroom with shower. The kitchen is fully equipped with oven, cook-top, dishwasher, microwave, toaster and coffee maker. The loft bedroom as a private deck with views of the land the sea. In addition, every cottage has a large deck off the living area facing the sea off to the Southwest. Cottages also include DVD/TV, telephone and wireless Internet.

The crashing surf and abundance of wildlife are right out the front door. This is also a convenient location for groceries, shopping, antiques, artisans, crafts, farm markets, historic churches and museums, biking, charter boat sailing, kayak and canoe rentals, golf course, fine dining and casual restaurants.

Owners Brian and Marilyn have gone out of their way to ensure the comfort and feeling of a home away from home atmosphere with this property. From the decorations, views, cleanliness and personal attention to detail, shows how much pride these two people take in sharing Shobac with others.
As a single renter, I always felt safe and comfortable alone at the cottage. The views were spectacular, which can't be truly captured on any pictures posted. The cottage has all the necessary supplies needed. They have provided an unbelievable amount of material for everything possible to do while staying and even provided personal reviews of some of the area attractions.
Thanks so much for a memorable vacation. See you next year.
Awesome Vacation!
My husband and I have just returned from just about the best vacation we've ever had. Shobac was more than we ever could have imagined . We had everything available, it was like being at home . The location is perfect with an easy drive to restaurants and all activities. We had friends join us and it was more than enough room. The view is fabulous and it's right on the beach. Couldn't ask for anything more. Consider us regulars. Thanks again for sharing your little piece of heaven.
Sensational
My husband and I just returned from the most amazing two week vacation of our lives. We are planning to return next year. The architectural splendor exceeds our expectations. The raw beauty is just stunning. We even saw eagles and rainbows. This Lunenburg location proved perfect for us to enjoy all that the South Shore has to offer. Kudos to the folks at the Cottage Connection for making this trip so simple and so successful.
Amazing Vacation
Shobac was just perfect. We did manage to pry enough time away from this beautiful property to visit Halifax & the Tall Ships, toured Alexander Keiths Pub & ate upstairs on the patio, drove out along the shore route to Peggy’s Cove, very beautiful, went whale watching in Digby & went Tidal Bore Rafting, toured Lunenburg & surrounding towns. Wow. We need to come back.
